WHY I BUILT THE BLACK PINT
A love of good pints.
Twenty-five years
of building software.
I’ve spent 25 years developing software, and I love a good pint of Guinness. After trying the apps already out there, I kept thinking about the experience I wanted—somewhere to share pints, discover pubs, and enjoy the conversation along the way.
So I started building The Black Pint.
Friends and family helped shape the first version, and I want our community to keep shaping what comes next. It’s ad-free, with room for good pints, strong opinions, and a bit of banter.

Are there ads?
No. The Black Pint is ad-free, so you can focus on the pints and the people.
How do I try the app?
Tap “Join the iPhone beta”. Apple will guide you through installing TestFlight and The Black Pint. Beta places are limited while we test.
Is it available on Android?
We’re starting with iPhone. Android isn’t available yet.
Who is it for?
Adults who enjoy black pints, pub discoveries and a bit of conversation. You must be at least 18 and of legal drinking age where you are.
How do you look after the community?
Public pint submissions are reviewed. You can report inappropriate content, block accounts, and contact us at support@theblackpint.com. Good banter is welcome; harassment isn’t.
